Sherry McGuire is a mixed media artist and the creator of Alchemic Artisan, a body of work transforming relics, raw materials, and forgotten matter into dimensional objects steeped in story. Her compositions weave together paint, wood, metal, ephemera, and found elements — each piece a portal into the archetypes that shape our shared human experience.
Studio Practice
Her current series, Archetypes, explores 52 symbolic figures — part myth, part personal memory — brought to life as layered, tactile compositions. Each archetype carries its own narrative, inviting viewers to recognize fragments of themselves within the work.
Sherry describes her art as “a conversation between what was and what might be” — where forgotten objects are reborn with new resonance and the stories of the past find a modern pulse.

Sherry previously spent 18 years as a salon owner proudly representing Aveda in San Jose and built a career as a Marketing Creative Art Director in Silicon Valley, specializing in packaging design. Today, she continues her craft in hair design at her private studios in Morgan Hill and Paso Robles, where artistry, storytelling, and transformation remain central to her work.
